Waukegan PD Releases New tip411 App to Improve Communication and Crime-Fighting

The Waukegan Police Department (158 sworn officers) is unveiling a new crime-fighting tool, powered by tip411, that has been proven to reduce crime, solve cases, and improve community involvement.

tip411 provides a two-way communication avenue between community members who want to stay anonymous and talk to live law enforcement officers.

“The Waukegan PD app, powered by tip411, will greatly improve the public’s access to agency alerts, social media channels, important information, and more to help fight crime,” said tip411 President Terry Halsch.

Interim Police Chief Edgardo Navarro said the department strives to keep residents safe through proactive community programs like their tip411 tool.

“We believe empowering the community to submit anonymous tips with our new Waukegan PD app will be a good tool to keep our community safe,” he said.

The Waukegan Police Department mobile app is available to download for free from the Google Play Store and the iTunes App Store. Citizens can also submit an anonymous text tip via their cell phone by texting the keyword “WPDTIP” and their message/tip to 847411.
